Life after retirement for retirees and baby boomers, the third phase of our lives, we will have 10-15 or even 20+ years to enjoy our leisure time activities. The retirement lifestyle plan will have to accomodate an additional 45-50 hours for leisure time activities a week, that's over 2500 hours a year. What baby boomers do with this leisure time will depend on the desired retirement lifestyle and the planning to achieve this retirement lifestyle.

A recent US survey found that 23% of the respondents felt that retirement leisure time planning and developing retirement hobbies was necessaryfor all retirees and baby boomers, with slightly over 24% saying that financial planning was necessary. What will you do with your leisure time? Whether you are now retired or a baby boomer just doing some retirement lifestyle planning you can be assured that retirement hobbies or some form of retirement free time activity will be necessary in your life after retirement. Boredom is definately not a fun option in your retirement planning. A retirement lifestyle is very different from the lifestyle of the workplace.

Studies indicate that somewhere between 30%-40% and some say as much as 60+% of the baby boomers retiring do not have a plan for life after retirement. The most difficult area of retirement lifestyle planning is discussing your vision of life after retirement with your partner. Very few baby boomer couples have even thought about this life changing time of their lives. It's very important TALK TO YOUR PARTNER.

Baby boomers, as you begin thinking about your life after retirement you will hear the terms like Reverse Mortgages, Refinance Mortgage Loan, Annuities, Life Settlements, Long Term Care Insurance, Debt Consolidation, Social Security Optimization, Retirement Financial Advisors, Supplemental Health Insurance, and many other financially related terms. There are numerous life after retirement  financial plans and people to assist you with this kind of plan. How much retirement hobbies information can you find for leisure time planning? Compared to Financial planning, not too much. Maybe we should forget to retire, keep working. This can be OK for many of us if it's at a reduced pace, two or three days a week or a few hours a week. For now let's just plan for retirement hobbies.
